Front-Line Employee's Role in Food Defense

Why is food defense important to you, as a front-line employee?

The primary purpose of food defense measures is to protect the food from intentional adulteration and to provide you, your family, and your community with safe food. In addition to protecting the public, food defense also protects your work environment, your company and its reputation, and your job. A successful intentional adulteration can result in illnesses, death, and psychological and economic damage that can extend far beyond the point of the adulteration and the people who became ill. Your role in protecting the food supply against intentional adulteration can prevent these wide scale consequences. Select the situations below for real-life instances of intentional adulteration and its impact.
