According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.

Intended Use: As a colorant for paper and paperboard.
Limitations/Specifications: For use only as a colorant in paper and paperboard complying with 21 CFR 176.170 at a level not to exceed 500 g per metric ton of uncoated paper or 1000 g food contact substance per metric ton dry coating, in contact with aqueous, acidic, alcoholic, and fatty foods (as described in Table 1 ) under Conditions of Use E, F, and G as described in Table 2.
