According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Copolymer of vinylidene chloride and butyl acrylate (CAS Reg. No. 9011-09-0), containing up to 10 weight percent polymer units derived from butyl acrylate.

Manufacturer/Supplier: The Dow Chemical Company
Intended Use: The FCS will be used in the manufacture of articles or components of articles intended to contact food.
Limitations/Specifications: The FCS has a weight average molecular weight in the range of 70,000-200,000 Daltons. Finished articles containing the FCS will have a thickness no greater than 3 mil (0.003 inch), and will be used in contact with all food types under Conditions of Use A through H as described in Tables 1 and 2, respectively.
