According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: 2,2'-(1,4-phenylene)bis[4H-3,1-benzoxazin-4-one] (CAS Reg. No. 18600-59-4).

Intended Use: As a UV light stabilizer in ethylene phthalate (PET) polymers that may contact food.
Limitations/Specifications: The FCS may be used at levels not to exceed 1.0 percent by weight in single use PET polymers complying with 21 CFR 177.1315 and 177.1630 or that are the subject of an effective FCN, which may contact with all food types under Conditions of Use C through G, as described in Tables 1 and 2.
