According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: | Carbonic dichloride, polymer with 4,4'-(1-methylethylidene)bis[phenol], 4-(1-methyl-1-phenylethyl)phenyl ester (polycarbonate resins) (CAS Reg. No. 11211-39-3). The resins are produced by the condensation of 4,4'-(isopropylidenediphenol) and carbonyl chloride. The manufacturing process may include optional adjuvant substances authorized in the production of the resins. |
