Dripping Wet Water, Inc.

According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Chlorine dioxide (CAS Reg. No. 10049-04-4).

Manufacturer/Supplier: Dripping Wet Water, Inc.
Intended Use: As an antimicrobial agent in water used in poultry processing and to wash fruits and vegetables that are not raw agricultural commodities.
Limitations/Specifications: 1) The FCS will be used in an amount not to exceed 3ppm residual chlorine dioxide as determined by Method 4500-CI02-D, modified for use with the Hach Spectrophotometer, or UV absorbance at 360 nm. 2) Chlorine dioxide produced through the CL02IX process produces a concentrated solution that contains at least 600 ppm chlorine dioxide, and no greater than 10 ppm chlorite and 90 ppm chlorate. 3) When used in water to wash fruits and vegetables, treatment of the fruits and vegetables shall be followed by a potable water rinse, blanching, cooking, or canning.
