According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Hydrogenated petroleum hydrocarbon resin (cyclopentadiene-type) (CAS Reg. No. 68132-00-3).

Intended Use: The FCS will be used as an adjuvant at levels not to exceed 15 percent by weight in blends with high density polyethylene (HDPE) complying with 21 CFR 177.1520(c), item 2.1 or 2.2. The density of each of these polymers shall not be less than 0.94 gram per cubic centimeter.
Limitations/Specifications: The average thickness of the HDPE film is not to exceed 0.004 inches. The finished HDPE film may be used in contact with: (1) Food Types I, II, IV-B, VI-A, VI-B, VII-B and VIII as described in Table 1 and under Conditions of Use C through G as described in Table 2; and (2) Food Types III, IV-A, V, VI-C, VII-A and IX, as described in Table 1 and under Conditions of Use D through G, as described in Table 2.
