According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: A grafted copolymer of cross-linked sodium polyacrylate identified as 2-propenoic acid, polymers with N,N-di-2 propenyl -2-propen -1-amine and hydrolyzed polyvinyl acetate, sodium salts, graft (CAS Reg. No. 166164-74-5)

Manufacturer/Supplier: Evonik Corporation
Intended Use: For use as an absorptive medium in absorbent pads employed in the packaging of refrigerated or frozen red meat.
Limitations/Specifications: The finished copolymer must meet all specifications and limitations prescribed in 21 CFR 177.1211(b) and (c).
