According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Acetic acid ethenyl ester, polymer with ethene and 1,1'-(1-ethenyl-1,2-ethanediyl) diacetate, hydrolyzed (CAS Reg. No. 917249-65-1).

Intended Use: For use as a component of food-contact articles.
Limitations/Specifications: The FCS may be used in contact with fatty foods under Conditions of Use C through G as described in Table 2. The FCS may be used alone, as a blend, or may be co-extruded with other resins. The FCS use level will not exceed 0.024g FCS/in2 of the final food contact article. Adjuvant substances permitted for use in ethylene-vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol copolymers complying with 21 CFR 177.1360 may be used in the copolymer that is the subject of this notification, subject to any limitations in the authorizing regulation or notification.
