According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: beta-Alanine, N-(2-aminoethyl)-, monosodium salt, polymer with 1,4-butanediol, 1,6-diisocyanatohexane, 1,3-diisocyanatomethylbenzene and hexanedioic acid (CAS Reg. No. 141073-56-5).

Intended Use: The FCS is a polyurethane coating which is used as an adhesive applied on plastics, films, paper and paperboard, and metal or coated metal used for packaging and holding all food types intended for single- and repeat-use articles.
Limitations/Specifications: The FCS will be used in single- and repeat-use articles in contact with all Food Types (I-IX) under Conditions of Use C through G as described in Tables 1 and 2. The application rate of the FCS will be no greater than 0.039 g/in2.
