Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corporation

According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Styrene block polymer with 1,3-butadiene, hydrogenated (CAS Reg. No. 66070-58-4).

Intended Use: As a modifier of propylene polymers and copolymers for use in contact with food.
Limitations/Specifications: The FCS may be used at a level not to exceed 40 percent by weight of the polymer blend. The FCS meets all specifications of 21 CFR 177.1810(b)(3)(i) except for the high glass transition point. For use in contact with all types of food under Conditions of Use A through H, as described in Table 2.
