According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Methyl oxirane polymer with oxirane, ether with 1,2,3-propanetriol (CAS Reg. No. 9082-00-2).

Manufacturer/Supplier: The Dow Chemical Company
Intended Use: As an alcohol monomer in the production of polyester resins used in polyurethane adhesives complying with 21 CFR 175.105, or authorized by an effective FCN or a threshold of regulation (TOR) exemption.
Limitations/Specifications: The FCS is intended for use at a level not to exceed 82 weight-percent of the resultant polyester resin. The finished adhesive will incorporate the resultant polyester resin at a level not to exceed 70 weight-percent, and will be used in contact with all food types under Conditions of Use E through G as described in Tables 1 and 2.
