According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Heat-treatable steel alloy (FCN 1404) and low melting silver based brazing alloys (FCN 1405).

Intended Use: The FCSs are intended for repeat use as base material with cemented carbide grades for knives, cutters, and other tools for food processing (FCN 1404) and for joining steel body and tungsten carbide knives, cutters, or other tungsten carbide tools (FCN 1405).
Limitations/Specifications: The FCSs will be used in contact with all food types in the pH range of >7 for repeat use articles.
