According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: 2H-benzimidazole-2-thione, 1,3-dihydro-, 4(or 5)-methyl-, zinc salt(2:1) containing up to 4 percent by weight petroleum process oil.

Intended Use: As an antioxidant synergist in natural or synthetic rubber gloves intended for repeat use in the meat packing industry.
Limitations/Specifications: Used in equal amounts with the primary currently regulated antioxidant, at no greater than 1 percent by weight of the rubber gloves.
