According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Acetic acid ethenyl ester, polymer with ethene and ethenol (CAS Reg. No. 26221-27-2).

Intended Use: For use as a component in single-use coffee capsules.
Limitations/Specifications: The FCS may be used at levels up to 40% in blends with authorized polymers in single-use coffee capsules that contain ground coffee for storage at room temperature until brewing. During brewing the capsules containing the FCS are exposed to water at a temperature of up to 100°C for up to 2 minutes.
