According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Hexanedioic acid, polymer with hexahydro-2H-azepin-2-one and 1,6-hexanediamine [Nylon 6/66] (CAS Reg. No. 24993-04-2).

Manufacturer/Supplier: AdvanSix Resins and Chemicals LLC
Intended Use: As a component of films used in contact with all food types under Conditions of Use A through H, as described in Tables 1 and 2, respectively.
Limitations/Specifications: 1) The food contact substance used in the films will have a maximum thickness of 1 mil (0.001 inch). 2) The polymer will have a relative viscosity in formic acid of 65 to 85 and will meet the specifications for Nylon 6/66 resins set forth under 21 CFR 177.1500(b)4.2. 3) Adjuvant substances permitted for use in Nylon 6/66 polymers complying with 21 CFR 177.1500(a)(4) and (b)4.2 may be used in the subject copolymers subject to any limitations regarding Conditions of Use or food types in the authorizing regulation or notification.
