According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: 1,4-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, dimethyl ester, polymer with 1,3-propanediol (CAS Reg. No. 36619-23-5) or 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid, polymer with 1,3-propanediol (CAS Reg. No. 26590-75-0).
Notifier: E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Co., Inc.
Manufacturer/Supplier: Covation Biomaterials LLC
Intended Use: As a component in the manufacture of articles, except bottles, intended to contact food.
Limitations/Specifications: For use in contact with all food types under Conditions of Use C through H as described in Tables 1 and 2.
