According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.

Limitations/Specifications: Use as a monomer to produce cyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate and cyclohexylene dimethylene isophthalate copolymers regulated under 21 CFR 177.1240 (a); as a component of polyester resins used in adhesives under 21 CFR 175.105; as a monomer of ethylene, cyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate copolymers regulated under 21 CFR 177.1315; as a monomer of polyethylene phthalate polymers regulated under 21 CFR 177.1630; as a monomer for polyurethane resins regulated under 21 CFR 177.1680; and as a monomer for polyester resins in can coatings under 21 CFR 175.300(b)(3)(vii)(c).
