According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Polyethylene glycol alkyl (C12-C14) ether sulfosuccinate, disodium salt (CAS Reg. No.1024612-24-5) in a mixture with authorized sulfosuccinate disodium salts.

Intended Use: As a component of adhesive formulations or as an emulsifier.
Limitations/Specifications: The FCS mixture may be used at levels not to exceed 5 percent by weight of total monomers in (1) adhesive formulations complying with 21 CFR 175.105(a)(2) or (2) the emulsion polymerization of polyvinyl acetate, acrylic, and vinyl/acrylic polymers used in coatings for paper and paperboard that may contact food.
