According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Cis-endo-bicyclo(2.2.1)heptane-2,3-dicarboxylic acid, disodium salt (CAS Reg. No. 351870-33-2).

Intended Use: As a nucleating agent in polypropylene and high density polyethylene, including homopolymers and copolymers, and in linear low density polyethylene polymers.
Limitations/Specifications: For use as a nucleating agent, at a maximum level of 0.25 weight percent in polypropylene and high density polyethylene polymers in contact with all food types, under Conditions of Use A through H , as described in Table 2, and at a maximum level of 0.25 weight percent in linear low density polyethylene polymers in contact with all food types, under Conditions of Use B through H , as described in Table 2.
