According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Methyl methacrylate-trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate copolymers (CAS Reg. No. 28931-67-1).

Manufacturer/Supplier: Nippon Shokubai Ltd.
Intended Use: The FCS will be used as an antiblocking agent in linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) copolymers intended for food-contact applications.
Limitations/Specifications: The finished FCS will be used at levels not to exceed 2.0 percent by weight of ethylene copolymers complying with 21 CFR 177.1520(c), items 3.1, 3.2(a), and 3.2(b), and having a density of less than 0.94 g/cm3. The finished copolymers may be used in contact with all types of food as identified in Table 1 under Conditions of Use D through G as described in Table 2.
