According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: 2-propenoic acid, polymers with N,N-di=2-propenyl-2-propen-1-amine and hydrolyzed polyvinyl acetate, sodium salts, graft (CAS Reg. No. 166164-74-5).

Intended Use: For use as an absorptive medium in absorbent pads employed in the packaging of refrigerated cubed tomatoes, refrigerated fresh-cut fruits and vegetables, refrigerated whole berries, and refrigerated or frozen fish fillets.
Limitations/Specifications: 1) The finished FCS will be used in the manufacture of food-contact articles and the quantity used shall not exceed the least amount reasonably required to accomplish the intended effect. 2) The FCS will be used in contact with the foods identified above, under Conditions of Use F and G, as described in Table 2.
