According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.

Intended Use: As a reactant in the production of polyester resins (such polyester resins to be otherwise made from materials regulated for production of such resins under 21 CFR 175.320) used as components of coatings applied to polypropylene (PP) films complying with 21 CFR 177.1520.
Limitations/Specifications: The polyester resin may be used at levels not to exceed 0.05 milligrams per square inch in coating applied to the film surface area. The coated films may be used in contact with all types of food and under conditions of use A through H in accordance with 21 CFR 175.320.
