The Dow Chemical Company, Trinseo LLC and Styron Holding B.V.

According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: α-sulfo-ω-(dodecyloxy)poly(oxyethylene) sodium salt (CAS Reg. No. 9004-82-4).

Manufacturer/Supplier: The Dow Chemical Company, Trinseo LLC and Styron Holding B.V.
Intended Use: The FCS will be used as an emulsifier/surfactant in the production of styrene-butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer coatings for paper and paperboard.
Limitations/Specifications: The FCS may be used at levels not to exceed 0.3 weight percent in coatings composed of styrene-butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymers, that are the subject of FCN 106, intended for use as a coating for paper and paperboard.
