According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Formamide, N,N'-1,6-hexanediylbis[N-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl)- (CAS Reg. No. 124172-53-8).

Intended Use: For use as a UV light stabilizer in Polystyrene complying with 21 CFR 177.1640, styrene block copolymers complying with 21 CFR 177.1810, acrylonitrile copolymers and resins complying with 21 CFR 181.32 and Polypropylene (PP) complying with 21 CFR 177.1520.
Limitations/Specifications: a. Polystyrene complying with 21 CFR 177.1640, styrene block copolymers complying with 21 CFR 177.1810 acrylonitrile copolymers and resins complying with 21 CFR 181.32 at levels not to exceed 0.5 weight percent of the finished polymers in contact with all foods under Conditions of Use E through G as described in Tables 1 and 2 and b. Polypropylene (PP) complying with 21 CFR 177.1520, at a level not to exceed 0.25 weight percent of the finished polymer in contact with all foods except high-alcohol foods, under Conditions of Use E through G as described in Tables 1 and 2.
