According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Anthranilamide. The Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) name is 2-aminobenzamide (CAS Reg. No. 88-68-6).

Manufacturer/Supplier: Coca-Cola Co., ColorMatrix Corp. and KoSa
Intended Use: As a scavenger for acetaldehyde in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) beverage bottles.
Limitations/Specifications: Anthranilamide is present in the finished container at levels not to exceed 500 mg/kg (ppm) in bottles used to hold water and at levels not to exceed 250 mg/kg (ppm) in bottles used for non-water, aqueous, acidic, and low-alcohol food applications.
