According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
| Food Contact Substance: | Copolymers produced by the polymerization of 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid. The copolymers have the CAS name 2-naphthalenecarboxylic acid, 6-hydroxy-, polymer with 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (CAS Reg. No. 81843-52-9). The copolymers should be manufactured and characterized as described in the notification. |
