Rohm and Haas Company

According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Styrene-acrylic copolymers produced by polymerizing a minimum of 72 parts by weight of styrene with a minimum of 4 parts of methyl methacrylate and with up to 10 parts total of any one or more of the following monomers: butyl methacrylate, methacrylic acid, butyl acrylate, acrylic acid and allyl methacrylate

Intended Use: As components of coatings for paper and paperboard in compliance with 21 CFR 176.170(b)
Limitations/Specifications: For use at levels not to exceed 20 percent by weight of the total coating solids.
