According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Fluorescein, disodium salt or dipotassium salt (CAS Reg. No. 518-47-8) and (CAS Reg. No. 6417-85-2)

Manufacturer/Supplier: Nalco Chemical Co.
Intended Use: For use in boiler water additives complying with 21 CFR 173.310.
Limitations/Specifications: For use only as an inert tracer chemical in boiler systems and must not exceed 900 parts per billion (ppb) in boiler water. In addition, this product must meet any applicable specifications under 21 CFR 173.310.
Effective Date: May 11, 2000
