According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.
Food Contact Substance: Hypochlorous acid (CAS Reg. No. 7790-92-3). REPLACES FCN 2161

Manufacturer/Supplier: Ecolab, Inc.
Intended Use: As an antimicrobial agent in ice for cooling whole or cut meat and poultry, whole or cut fish and seafood, and fruits and vegetables in retail food establishments and food processing facilities (see Limitations/Specifications).
Limitations/Specifications: The concentration of available free chlorine will not exceed 60 ppm when diluted on site. The concentrated FCS solution will be stored for no more than six months before use.
